FSM State-Wide Assessment and Resource Strategy (SWARS) 2010 – 2015+

SWARS is a tool for FSM island states to identify their highest priorities for forest resource management and seek implementation of their strategies with on-island partners and with assistance from the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Forest Services (FS). It includes 2 components (i. State-Wide Assessment of Forest Resources; and ii. State-Wide Forest Resource Strategy) for the assessment and planning required by the Forest Service’s State and Private Forestry (S&PF) Redesign approach to identify priority forest landscape areas and highlight work needed to address national, regional, and state forest management priorities.
