On September 17-19, 2019, the R2R Project Implementation Unit (PIU) convened a planning workshop in Pohnpei to review and assess the current progress of the project at its midterm phase. Delegations from the four States include project focal points, State Coordinators, technical staff, local NGOs, community representatives, other implementing partners at State level and affiliated key partners including regional NGOs, National and CROP agencies.

Another Joint Force from Chuuk EPA and Department of Public Works starting to collect junk cars scattered beside the main and secondary road on Weno Island. Removal of junk cars are those abandoned vehicles lying within the 38 feet right of way easment of a public (main) and secondary road. WENO, Chuuk – On June 13-14, 2019, the FSM Department of Environment, Climate Change, and Emergency Management (DECEM) had a two-day training in Chuuk State regarding the Inform & iCLIM Data Portals Projects and the Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) National Implementation Plan (NIP) Project. DECEM representatives visiting Chuuk to conduct the trainings are Mr. Snyther Biza, GIS and Data Officer; Mr. Skiis Dewey, IT Officer, and Ms. Caroline Werthog, POPs NIP Project Coordinator.
