Guidelines, brochures, Indicators and published work on the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety to the Convention on Biological Diversity which is an international treaty governing the movements of living modified organisms (LMOs) resulting from modern biotechnology from one country to another.
This dataset contains the gap analysis & spatial prioritization reports for the 4 States of the FSM, which includes:
1) Pohnpei State's Protected Area Network,
2) Chuuk State's Protected Area Network,
3) Yap State's Protected Area Network, and
4) Kosrae State's Protected Area Network.
The reports also include spatial prioritization analyses to identify priority areas to expand the existing network to fill representation gaps for each of the states.
The FSM SoE Report reveals the current state of knowledge about the environment in FSM along the following thematic areas: atmosphere and climate, water, land, marine, biodiversity, built environment, and culture and heritage.

May 25, 2019 At the request of the (OECMA) Oneisom Environment Conservation Management Association, EPA Chuuk held a workshop on Solid Waste Management at Truk Stop Hotel today. Mayor of Oneisom Municiapality, Mr Enrino Paul, Director of OECMA, Ms Evelyn Paul along with a number of coordinators from different Municipal groups attended the workshop. Concepts of waste management focusing on 3Rs, Segregation of waste, policies and regulations and Proper Disposal of wastes were some of the topics of today's workshop.
KOLONIA, Pohnpei – On June 17-18, 2019, the FSM Department of Environment, Climate Change, and Emergency Management (DECEM) had a two-day training in Pohnpei State regarding the Inform & iCLIM Data Portals Projects and the Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) National Implementation Plan (NIP) Project. Weno, Chuuk FSM - on April 22, 2020 Tuesday, Chuuk EPA staff (Solid & Hazardous Waste Manager and Environmental Educator) with collaboration of (8) eight volunteers from Kuchua, Dublon and Tunnuk, Udot, along with two Chuuk Department of Transportation and Public Works staff and security measure by 2 Police Officers from the Chuuk State Department of Public Safety gathered together at the Downtown Marina Shoreline and collected scattered trash of all kinds as an activity for the Earth Day.
