May 25, 2019 At the request of the (OECMA) Oneisom Environment Conservation Management Association, EPA Chuuk held a workshop on Solid Waste Management at Truk Stop Hotel today. Mayor of Oneisom Municiapality, Mr Enrino Paul, Director of OECMA, Ms Evelyn Paul along with a number of coordinators from different Municipal groups attended the workshop. Concepts of waste management focusing on 3Rs, Segregation of waste, policies and regulations and Proper Disposal of wastes were some of the topics of today's workshop.

A film documentation of an environmental issue Pohnpei main island is facing today, in regards to the dredging activities that are happening in Pohnpei, which needs to be tackled for the care of our livelihood today and of our future generations.

This map shows the locations of dredged sites (active and inactive) around Pohnpei shoreline as of July 6, 2020. Map was developed by MCT and CSP.

This map shows locations of dredged sites around Pohnpei shoreline as of October 15, 2020, by MCT and CSP (Mr. Bejay Obispo). Within 4 months (from July to October), 6 new dredging sites were added from the July 6 dredged map.

REPORT 2: RECOMMENDATIONS FOR STRENGTHENING THE ACTION STRATEGY AND ENHANCING ITS IMPLEMENTATION

REPORT 1: PROGRESS ACHIEVED TOWARDS THE OBJECTIVES OF THE ACTION STRATEGY DURING THE PAST FIVE YEARS

It is a 35 paged Evaluation Report on the 7th Pacific Islands Conference on Nature Conservation and Protected Areas event. This evaluation is the result of a questionnaire (Annex 5) handed out at the end of the conference with a 15.3% return rate (47 conference evaluations). The report's structure will be a planning tool for future conferences to measure and assess what worked and what didn’t work at the 7th Conference

A 34 paged report on the 11th Meeting of the Pacific Islands Roundtable for Nature Conservation held in Suva and hosted by IUCN, Pacific Council of Churches, WWF, SPREP, USP and FSPI. It reports the decisions made by the Roundtable on the following issues:
1. The Roundtable Charter (and 8 organisations signed the charter) (see annex 1)
2. The need for a Roundtable Officer to be based at IUCN in Fiji to support the Chair and support the work of the Roundtable. Roundtable organizations agreed to see whether they had resources to support this.

This new set of 60 indicator icons can be used in a State of Environment report to indicate the status of environmental issues and progress in a country.
